Sydney in the warmer months has a spooky effect on streetscapes. It’s both isolating and engulfing. It’s lazy and deserted. It’s stifling and makes me very conscious of space.

These photos were taken on a recent hot tuesday afternoon at 5pm. Faint smells of bushfire filtering the sky. I’m no architecture buff but have always appreciated a good façade. There’s something very seductive and pleasing about the idea of clusters of buildings collectively constituting a city.

Even though the suburbs I grew up in never really looked like this, dense housing is what I always associated with describing suburbia. And also, this kind of living now describes my reality.
